Join the Conversation this Dying Matters Week

Dying Matters Week takes place from 7–13 September, encouraging people to have open conversations about death, dying, grief, and bereavement.

These are experiences that touch every one of us, yet they can still be difficult to talk about. Dying Matters Week is an opportunity to bring these conversations into the open, helping people feel more comfortable asking questions, sharing experiences, and talking about what matters to them and their loved ones.

This year, Dove Hospice & Wellness is joining with local community partners The HEART Movement and Morrisons Funerals to create welcoming spaces for our community to come together, connect, and share perspectives.

Women’s Koru Group

Date & Time: Wednesday 9 September, 10am–11am
Venue: Panmure Library, 7/13 Pilkington Road, Panmure

Join The HEART Movement’s Women’s Koru Group for a special Dying Matters Week conversation with guests from Dove Hospice & Wellness.

Together, we’ll create space for an open and supportive conversation about grief, bereavement, death, dying and end of life, with an opportunity to ask questions and share perspectives.

Cultural Traditions Around Dying

Date & Time: Friday 11 September, 10.30am–12pm
Venue: Morrisons Funerals, 9 Line Road, Glen Innes

Dove Hospice & Wellness, The HEART Movement and Morrisons Funerals invite you to join us for morning tea and a community conversation exploring cultural traditions around death, dying and grief.

We’ll explore some of the different ways cultures and communities honour and support people at end of life, as well as the traditions and practices that can surround death, funerals and bereavement.

Both events offer an opportunity to connect with others and have conversations about end of life that we may not always know how to begin with the people closest to us.

By creating space to talk openly about death and dying, we can help make these conversations a more natural part of life and better understand what matters to ourselves, our whānau and our communities.

We warmly invite you to join us this Dying Matters Week.
