Dove Hospice & Wellness has partnered with New World Stonefields to make donating pre-loved clothing easier for the local community.
From today until the end of June, shoppers can drop off clothing donations at a dedicated donation point inside the supermarket while completing their regular grocery shop.
The initiative offers a convenient way for people to support Dove Hospice & Wellness without making a separate trip and provides an option for donating outside the organisation’s usual opening hours.
All clothing donations received through the collection point will be sold through Dove Hospice shops, with proceeds helping fund hospice care and support services for people in the community living with life-limiting illness.
Dove Hospice & Wellness says it appreciates the support of New World Stonefields in helping make donating more accessible and encouraging more people to give back locally.

We were delighted to welcome the TVNZ Breakfast team to our Dove Hospice & Wellness Shop in Remuera for a very special visit on Friday 1 May.
As part of a weekly segment in partnership with My Food Bag, Breakfast presenter Matt Gibb and chef and broadcaster Nadia Lim travelled around Auckland, surprising everyday heroes who go above and beyond for the people around them, from quiet acts of kindness to big-hearted efforts that bring communities together.
It was a pleasure to meet Matt and Nadia and to share a glimpse into the work we do at Dove Hospice & Wellness. The highlight of the morning was celebrating one of our incredible volunteers, Christina, who was recognised live on Breakfast as an everyday hero.
Christina was recently awarded our Volunteer of the Year Award, recognising her outstanding contribution and more than 13 years of dedicated service. Over this time, she has supported our retail shops and played an active role in events and fundraising initiatives. Known for her warmth, charm and enthusiasm, Christina has a natural ability to connect with customers, staff and fellow volunteers alike. She consistently goes above and beyond, always willing to lend a hand wherever it is needed.
Christina’s recognition is also a reflection of the extraordinary community of volunteers who make our work possible. Every day, their generosity, compassion and commitment have a meaningful impact on the people we support.
We are so proud to see Christina celebrated in this way and deeply grateful to all of our volunteers for the care and dedication they bring to Dove Hospice & Wellness.
A heartfelt thank you to the TVNZ Breakfast and My Food Bag teams for helping us celebrate Christina and for shining a light on the impact of our work.
From 11 to 17 May 2026, Aotearoa marks Hospice Awareness Week, a national campaign led by Hospice New Zealand to raise awareness of the vital care hospices provide to people with life-limiting illness and their whānau.
Hospice care is about dignity, comfort and support at the end of life. It wraps around patients and families, providing not only clinical care, but also emotional, cultural and practical support during one of life’s most challenging times.
It is care that reaches beyond the patient, supporting whānau, offering guidance, and helping people make the most of the time they have together.
During Hospice Awareness Week, Dove Hospice & Wellness are inviting our community to be part of that care.
When you visit our Dove Shops between 11 and 17 May, you will have the option to add an extra $1 donation at the checkout. It is a small gesture, but together these contributions help support the clinical services we provide every day.
Every donation helps ensure that people in our community receive compassionate, specialist hospice care when they need it most.
Hospice Awareness Week is also a time to reflect on why this care matters. It is about ensuring that no one faces the end of life alone, and that every person is supported with dignity and respect.
If you are able to, we encourage you to say yes to that $1 donation.
Thank you for supporting hospice care in our community.

Dove Hospice & Wellness has received a major boost to its operations thanks to the generosity of John Andrew Ford, who have donated a brand-new electric van to support the charity’s work in the community.
The van will be used daily to transport goods to Dove’s retail stores and collect donations from supporters, helping to keep the shops well-stocked and running smoothly. As Dove Hospice & Wellness continues to grow, the addition of a reliable vehicle is expected to make a significant difference in day-to-day operations.
In keeping with Dove’s commitment to sustainability, the new van is fully electric. This not only streamlines logistics but also reduces the environmental footprint of the organisation’s activities.
“We are incredibly grateful to John Andrew Ford for this generous donation,” said Simon Jones, CEO of Dove Hospice & Wellness. “Their support strengthens our ability to serve the community while staying true to our mission of sustainability and care. This vehicle will help us work more efficiently and represents a meaningful step forward in reducing our environmental impact.”
Dove Hospice & Wellness provides specialist palliative and supportive care for people with life-limiting illnesses, while also running a network of retail shops that raise vital funds for its services. These shops play a vital role in the community by offering affordable, high-quality goods, encouraging reuse and recycling, and funding the care Dove provides at cost-cost to its clients. The new van will make it easier to collect donations from households and businesses across the region, ensuring community contributions continue to directly support people in need.
“From all of us at Dove Hospice & Wellness, thank you to the team at John Andrew Ford for your generosity, your belief in our mission, and your commitment to supporting both our work and our community.”
