The Garden Ramble is a self-guided tour showcasing a curated selection of private gardens in Eastern Bays, Auckland, each offering a unique blend of beauty and thoughtful design. This one-day event provides rare access to these private spaces, allowing you to explore and be inspired by the creativity and passion of local gardeners.
Whether you are a seasoned gardener, a plant enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates beautiful spaces, the Garden Ramble offers a relaxed and inspiring day out. All proceeds from the event support Dove Hospice & Wellness and its vital community care programmes.

Purchasing Early Bird or General Admission tickets allows ticket holders entry to all gardens for Saturday 15 November.
Starting Garden & Wristbands
You can start your Garden Ramble experience at ANY of the gardens from 10am on Saturday 15 November. A digital copy of the Garden Ramble map including addresses and property information will be emailed to ticket holders ahead of the event. Visitors can also collect a physical copy of the Garden Ramble map at the first garden visited. Gardens are open to ticket holders from 10am – 4pm on Saturday 15 November. Please respect these hours.
At the first garden you visit, show your ticket and you will receive a Garden Ramble WRISTBAND. Once you have your wristband on your wrist, show it to the Garden Ramble team at the garden entrance and you can enter all participating gardens.
The Garden Ramble is a one-day, self-guided tour giving ticket holders rare access to a hand-picked selection of private gardens in Auckland’s Eastern Bays.
It takes place on Saturday 15 November 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
In private gardens across Auckland’s Eastern Bays. The exact addresses of each garden will be shared with ticket holders prior to the event.
Tickets are available via Eventbrite. There are early bird and general admission ticket options ($55 early bird, $60 general admission).
The ticket gives you access to all participating private gardens on the day.
All proceeds from ticket sales support Dove Hospice & Wellness and its vital community care programmes.
No – it is a self-guided event. You may visit the gardens in any order, at your own pace.
Yes – you are free to join and leave whenever you like between the event hours.
For safety reasons and to protect the garden environments, the Garden Ramble is best enjoyed by adults and older children (12+). We kindly ask that younger children do not attend.
Please note, the gardens aren’t wheelchair accessible and include steps, gravel paths, and uneven terrain.
For the comfort and enjoyment of all guests, pets are not permitted, and smoking or vaping is not allowed inside any properties.
Garden Ramble is an all-weather event. Please dress to accommodate all weather types including wearing a hat, sunscreen, brining an umbrella and raincoat.
Our event map will highlight nearby public restrooms for each garden. Street parking is available outside each property, please be mindful of residents.
Refreshments are not provided, and we ask to bring your own water and snacks if needed.
Representatives from Humphreys Landscaping will be present at all gardens to talk about the garden and answer questions about design, plants, or maintenance.
Yes! Photography for personal use is welcome, but please be respectful of the property owners’ privacy.
No – this is a self‑guided event. Visitors make their own way between gardens, either by car, bike, or on foot. Please plan your route and allow extra time to enjoy each garden at your own pace.
Each visitor needs their own ticket – no sharing, please.
